In addition to our daily operation of providing food and clothes to the poor, St. Vincent de Paul also conducts several Special Programs to further help needy families in Clark County.

Back to School Clothing Program

Getting children ready for the return to school each fall is expensive for all families. For low income families the cost of school clothing and supplies can be overwhelming. Our Back to School Clothing Program provides new and used clothing to over 650 children each year.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Baskets

Providing holiday food baskets to families at Thanksgiving and Christmas is a yearly tradition. 350 baskets are given out at Thanksgiving and over 400 at Christmas. In addition to the Christmas food baskets over 1,000 children also receive Christmas gifts.

Christmas Clothing Program

This is our most popular program. A local family donates money each year so that new coats and shoes can be purchased for at least 175 children.

Rent and Utility Assistance

Our largest program is helping families with their rent and utility payments. Homelessness in our community is a major problem and by helping a family pay part of their rent our hope is that they are able to remain in their home and maintain a stable life style.
